British red Cross Forum / Jersey Overseas Aid

On the eve of Liberation Day and with Jersey Overseas Aid, I hosted a public forum at Maritime Museum with the British Red Cross where we discussed ways of giving humanitarian aid in today’s environment.

We were honoured to be joined by: from left to right: Emma Jowett Independent Humanitarian Consultant and facilitator for the evening, Ed Lewis – Executive Director of JOA, Melissa Loughlin – grand-daughter of occupation survivor Margaret Loughlin who sadly passed away on the 1st July 2025 at the age of 92, Myslef, Alberto Groff – Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of Switzerland in the United Kingdom, and David Peppiatt OBE – Director, British Red Cross.

Following that event I walked upstairs in the Museum and gave another address with the Bailiff to welcome the crews of the visiting naval ship along with Ambassadors and Dignitaries who had travelled to Jersey for Liberation Day.
