2026 ELECTIONS IN GROUVILLE AND ST MARTIN
7th April 2026
Dear Electors of Grouville and St Martin
As a serving Deputy for our constituency, I am writing to let you know of my intention to stand as one of your representatives in the up and coming elections on 7th June 2026, and to ask for your support.
I am proud of my record in serving the constituency – my life long home – and to continue to work on your behalf at Parish, Island and International levels. I believe I combine a genuine understanding of the day-to-day needs of my Constituents with the ability to get things done.
I stand – as ever – as an independent candidate, because I believe Jersey is best served by representatives who think independently, vote with integrity, and work collaboratively for the good of the whole Island – to meet the challenges we face. We need effective politicians, who are rooted in community values, understand the economy and who can represent Jersey on the International stage.
We are lucky to live in a beautiful, safe and prosperous Island, with a proud history and culture. But life is not always easy, and the last four years have been hard for many. The rising cost of living is squeezing household budgets, our children are priced out of the housing market, and our healthcare system needs investment to cope with the aging population. We are also not insulated from serious global challenges like climate change, Brexit, and the appalling spectre of war in Europe and the Middle East.
I am contacting you ahead of the election in order to have a chance to meet as many of you as possible, and to hear your priorities first-hand. Dates of my planned Parish Surgeries can be found on my website with details overleaf, or please just drop me a line.
It has been an honour to serve as your Deputy, my main pledge remains simple: I will listen to you, and I will work really hard and effectively on your behalf at Parish, Island and International levels.
Respectfully and sincerely,
Carolyn Labey
