On International Women’s Day I was fortunate to take part in a gathering of women in the States Assembly where we were privileged to hear two very inspirational speakers: Joyce Watson MS, Senedd Regional Member, Welsh Labour Politician and Anna Whitehouse, bestselling author, presenter and podcaster. Where collective strength was the order of the day and marked the launch of Jersey’s first Women’s Parliamentary Caucus.
International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for advancing gender equality.
IWD has been around for well over a century, with the first IWD marked in 1911.
