I addressed a packed out St Paul’s Centre when we launched our Volunteer Programme. This year Jersey Overseas Aid are organising three Community Work Projects in Kenya, building a sand dam, in Nepal where we work with the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the community to build a community centre, and this year we are sending volunteers who have teaching skills to Rwanda to teach English in their schools.
Our other opportunities for Islanders include professional bursaries, student bursaries, Intern jobs for a year with NGO’s and UN Placements for two years. All of our placements and voluntary projects offer Islanders memorable life experiences and also offer career opportunities in International Development.
