Upon the recommendation of the Island Identity report the song “Beautiful Jersey” has been formalised as Jersey’s local anthem and in case you haven’t heard it, there are several versions available on the Gov.je website, but this one is fun!

As lead on the Island Identity project I am very pleased to report that the States Assembly approved my proposition to recognise Liberation Day as Jersey’s National Day.

On the eve of Liberation Day and with Jersey Overseas Aid, I hosted a public forum at Maritime Museum with the British Red Cross where we discussed ways of giving humanitarian aid in today’s environment.
My time in New Jersey alone provided considerable value, but I was also able to ‘top and tail’ my attendance at the Municipalities Conference with engagements in my role as Minister for International Development and chair of Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA).
